Our Clinic

The CPBS clinic is based on the scientist-practitioner model that utilizes evidence-based practices by various theoretical orientations (i.e., cognitive-behavioural, psychodynamic, humanistic and client-centred, systems theory). Psychological services also integrate numerous treatment modalities that are dependent on the individualized needs of the client (i.e., CBT, DBT, play therapy, mindfulness, solution-focused, collaborative problem-solving, EFFT, PCIT, family systems). All cases are examined and formulated through a culturally sensitive and trauma-informed lens using Bronfenbrenner’s ecological systems theory and the interdisciplinary biopsychosocial model.

Psychological Clinicians

All psychological services are provided by a registered child psychologist or clinician with extensive training who is directly supervised by a psychologist at the clinic. The clinicians at CPBS are very personable, knowledgeable, and have advanced expertise in their respective areas of competence. While these clinicians work towards registration with the College of Psychologists of Ontario, the supervising psychologist is legally and ethically responsible for each client and their families under their care.
